BANGLI, DEWATA.NEWS – Penglipuran Tourism Village in Bangli Regency is set to hold the PENGLIPU-RUN FUN RUN 2026 on Sunday, June 7, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen its image as a cultural, nature-based, and health tourism destination in Bali.
Organizers are targeting around 500 participants from various backgrounds, including local residents and visitors from outside the village.
Head of Penglipuran Tourism Village Management, I Wayan Sumiarsa, said the event is designed not only as a sports activity but also as a way to introduce participants to the village’s natural atmosphere and traditional cultural environment.
“Participants will not only run, but also enjoy the village atmosphere, cool air, clean environment, and additional attractions in the Penglipuran Bamboo Forest area,” Sumiarsa said on Saturday (May 9, 2026).
According to organizers, the concept combines sport, nature tourism, and entertainment into a single experience aimed at offering something different for visitors.
The running route will pass several iconic locations inside Penglipuran Village, including the Bamboo Forest area, which has become one of the village’s most recognized tourist attractions.
Various entertainment programs and supporting activities are also being prepared to enhance the participant experience during the event.
Sumiarsa explained that the fun run is part of broader efforts to strengthen Penglipuran’s positioning as a destination supporting healthy lifestyles and wellness-based tourism.
“The village’s clean and comfortable environment is a major asset in supporting the health tourism concept, which is now starting to grow,” he said.
Beyond tourism promotion, organizers also expect the event to increase local community involvement in sustainable and inclusive village tourism development.
Residents are expected to participate in multiple aspects of the event’s organization and activities.
The committee hopes PENGLIPU-RUN FUN RUN 2026 can eventually become an annual event capable of attracting both domestic and international tourists while further strengthening Penglipuran’s reputation as one of the world’s leading tourism villages.
