BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – The Badung Police, in coordination with the Mengwi Police Sector, have implemented an integrated security operation to ensure public safety during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

The measures focus on Mengwi District, the largest jurisdiction in Badung Regency, where a significant number of foreign nationals reside, particularly in the Cemagi and Pererenan areas.

According to Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti, Acting Head of Public Information at the Badung Police Public Relations Unit, the security plan includes intensified routine patrols, guarding of identified risk points, and increased police presence across tourist routes, residential neighborhoods, and public activity locations.

“In areas such as Cemagi and Pererenan, where there are many foreign resident activities and settlements, Mengwi Police are supported by the Badung Police to conduct intensive and community-oriented patrols,” she said on Tuesday (December 23).

Patrols are carried out regularly by Sabhara units, community police officers (Bhabinkamtibmas), and supporting units to monitor public order and prevent potential security disturbances. Additional targeted patrols are conducted in foreign resident housing areas, villas, and accommodation facilities.

Officers on the ground apply a human-centered approach, assess local conditions, and coordinate with villa managers, traditional security officers (pecalang), and village authorities.

Police also urged both local residents and foreign nationals to comply with applicable regulations, maintain public order, and promptly report any suspicious activity directly or via the national police hotline at 110.

“The Badung Police are committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment during the Christmas and New Year celebrations to ensure the situation remains conducive,” Inastuti added.

Separately, Kompol I Gusti Nyoman Sudarsana, Head of Operations at the Badung Police, stated that personnel deployment for Christmas security is scheduled for December 20, 21, 24, and 25, 2025.

Open and covert security measures are applied at churches, with two to four officers assigned to each site depending on congregation size and risk assessment.

“Sterilization activities are conducted two hours before worship services by the Gegana unit of the Bali Police Mobile Brigade,” he said.

To ensure the safety of Christmas worshippers, the Mengwi Police also provided security for the Christmas service of the GBI Rock Satellite Kapal congregation at the Made Bali Hotel Ballroom on Jalan Raya Sempidi.

Security was carried out through open and closed measures, with officers stationed at entry points, parking areas, and surrounding locations.

Mengwi Police Chief Kompol Anak Agung Gede Rai Darmayasa emphasized that the operation reflects the police’s commitment to safeguarding religious activities and managing traffic around worship venues.

“We are here to ensure our Christian brothers and sisters can observe Christmas in a solemn, safe, and comfortable atmosphere. This is a reflection of tolerance and shared responsibility in maintaining interfaith harmony,” he said.
