DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Bali Ocean Days 2026, themed “Navigating Solutions for a Regenerative Ocean Future,” will bring together 24 curated speakers and 12 Eco-Showcase innovators from diverse disciplines and sectors, highlighting practical, proven solutions for ocean sustainability.
Chair of the Board of the Sky Blue Sea (SBS) Foundation, Yoke Darmawan, said the event will present real-world initiatives already in action, ranging from circular waste management systems and community-based marine protection to new collaboration models linking business, technology, and sustainable finance.
“They will present solutions that are already working, covering circular waste systems, community-led marine protection, and new collaborative models between business, technology, and sustainable funding,” Darmawan said during a briefing in Denpasar on Sunday (11/1).
Bali Ocean Days 2026 will take place over two days, January 30–31, 2026, at the InterContinental Bali Resort in Jimbaran. The conference is framed around a central question: how quickly stakeholders can move and who moves together, to advance a regenerative ocean future.
“With the theme ‘Navigating Solutions for a Regenerative Ocean Future,’ Bali Ocean Days serves as a cross-sector meeting point, bringing together business leaders, scientists, innovators, investors, community movers, NGOs, and storytellers who drive change,” Darmawan explained.
Designed as a platform that turns ideas into action, the event will focus on solutions with proven impact, financing mechanisms that accelerate scalability, and partnerships that deliver long-term outcomes.
One of the main highlights will be the presentation of the Sky Blue Sea Trophy of Honor to Sir David Attenborough, recognizing his lifetime contribution to ocean storytelling and protection, connected to his landmark documentary Ocean with David Attenborough.
“The award will be received on his behalf by Mr. Toby Nowlan of Silverback Films,” Darmawan said.
Bali Ocean Days 2026 will also host a strategic side event, SEA-MaP Business Matchmaking, supported by the World Bank. The initiative aims to accelerate the transition of ocean and plastic solutions into investable, bankable projects.
Participants can expect to learn from 24 cross-sector speakers, discover 12 Eco-Showcase solutions ready for scaling, connect with collaborators and investors, and engage directly in SEA-MaP Business Matchmaking.
Bali Ocean Days is an annual conference and showcase organized by the Sky Blue Sea Foundation in collaboration with government ministries, corporations, NGOs, innovators, and academic institutions.
Designed as an action platform supporting SDG 14 (Life Below Water), the event aims to deliver tangible outcomes, foster cross-sector collaboration, and strengthen Indonesia’s leadership in global ocean conservation and management.
