BULELENG, DEWATA.NEWS – Buleleng Regency welcomed the luxury cruise ship Regatta on Wednesday morning (January 14, 2026), bringing hundreds of international visitors to North Bali as part of the region’s growing cruise tourism activity.
The cruise ship arrived and began docking procedures at Celukan Bawang Port at around 06:30 WITA. Based on the ship’s manifest, disembarkation started at approximately 07:00 WITA, with a total of 629 passengers and 387 crew members on board, representing various nationalities.
Head of the Buleleng Tourism Office, I Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, said the passengers were scheduled to explore several tourism destinations across North Bali throughout the day before continuing their voyage in the evening.
“The tourists are scheduled to visit various destinations in North Bali until 19:00 WITA before the ship departs for its next destination,” Dody said on Wednesday.
To accommodate the large number of visitors within a limited timeframe, travel agencies prepared multiple tour packages divided into key tourism zones. These packages include historical and cultural tours, nature and highland attractions, relaxation and marine tourism, as well as educational tourism experiences.
Historical destinations include Gedong Kirtya, Puri Buleleng, and the Old Buleleng Port. Nature and mountain tours feature the Buyan–Tamblingan Twin Lakes area, Havengate Balihandara, and the Munduk region.
Meanwhile, relaxation and wellness packages cover Banjar Hot Springs and Banjar Tegeha Monastery, while educational tourism activities are centered around West Bali National Park.
Dody added that cruise tourism is expected to continue throughout 2026, with a total of 22 cruise ships scheduled to visit Buleleng Regency during the year. Four cruise ship calls are planned for January alone, including Celebrity Millennium on January 13 and January 17, Regatta on January 14, and Sirena on January 18.
“Cruise ship visits are expected to generate meaningful economic benefits for local communities, particularly small businesses, tour guides, and transportation service providers in Buleleng,” he said.
