TABANAN, DEWATA.NEWS – Management of Nuanu Creative City has issued an official clarification following a viral social media video showing the intimidation of an online ride-hailing driver while picking up a passenger near the Nuanu area.

The widely circulated video shows several men blocking a car driven by an online transport driver and questioning his right to pick up passengers in the area. The footage captures a tense confrontation, with four men surrounding the vehicle and three of them actively engaging in raised voices and intimidating gestures toward the driver, who remained inside the car and attempted to explain his position.

At one point, one of the men, seen wearing a handheld radio device on his chest, objected to the driver recording the incident. The situation escalated as arguments continued, drawing public attention and criticism online, with some social media users associating the incident directly with Nuanu Creative City.

Responding to the backlash, Nuanu Creative City CEO Lev Kroll emphasized that the incident does not reflect Nuanu’s official policies.

“We want to clearly state that Nuanu fully allows online transportation services to conduct passenger pick-ups within the Nuanu area,” Lev said when contacted on Friday, January 16, 2026.

He further clarified that the confrontation shown in the video occurred outside Nuanu’s controlled area.

“We would like to stress that the situation shown in the video took place outside Nuanu, on a public road that is beyond our authority,” he added.

Nuanu management also addressed speculation regarding the identity of the men involved in the confrontation.
“We need to clarify that the individuals seen in the video are not Nuanu staff or employees,” Lev stated firmly.

According to management, Nuanu Creative City has consistently maintained an inclusive transportation policy, providing equal access for both online ride-hailing services and local transport operators to ensure convenience for visitors. The company stated that it continues to work collaboratively with online platforms such as Grab, Gojek, and Bluebird, alongside local taxi partners.

“We reiterate that both online transportation and local transport services are permitted to pick up passengers within the Nuanu area,” Lev said.

Although the incident did not occur inside Nuanu’s premises, management confirmed it is conducting an internal review to improve coordination at access points and prevent similar misunderstandings in the future.

“We remain committed to maintaining comfort, safety, and harmonious relationships for everyone operating within and around our area,” Lev concluded.
