TABANAN, DEWATA.NEWSNuanu Creative City has released its 2025 Impact Report, marking one full year of operating as a public-facing creative district in Bali. The year is described as a significant transition period, following earlier phases of development and testing, and represents Nuanu’s first sustained phase of open public activities with full operational responsibility.

The report outlines Nuanu’s initial achievements across environmental management, social investment, and cultural programming during its foundational operational year. Nuanu Creative City CEO Lev Kroll said the report is intended as a transparent evaluation tool rather than a promotional summary.

“This report is not just about highlighting successes, but about honestly assessing what is working and what needs improvement,” Kroll said. He explained that Nuanu is applying system-based and technology-driven frameworks to traditionally managed initiatives, with the goal of improving quality of life for both internal communities and surrounding residents.

Throughout 2025, Nuanu implemented integrated environmental performance management covering mobility, energy use, waste management, and land use. Internal transportation relied on low-emission mobility through electric vehicles, resulting in estimated annual fuel savings of around 39,500 liters and a reduction of more than 43 tons of CO₂e emissions.

In the energy sector, the use of solar power systems reduced grid electricity consumption by approximately 213,362 kWh, preventing an estimated 192 tons of CO₂e emissions. Waste management efforts achieved a recycling rate of 94.84 percent through sorting, composting, and organic waste redistribution. Over the year, more than 84 tons of waste were recycled, while 1,085 tons of organic waste were processed to support local agricultural practices.

Ecological restoration was also highlighted through the planting of 1,015 trees using the Miyawaki method, aimed at strengthening biodiversity and long-term ecosystem resilience. Head of Environment at Nuanu, Agastya Yatra, said 2025 focused on strengthening operational data systems.

“This year was about building a solid data foundation, with full system maturity targeted for 2026,” he said.

Beyond environmental performance, the report detailed Nuanu’s social impact through education, health, and economic empowerment programs. Educational initiatives reached more than 1,000 children and students, as well as 120 women and adolescent girls. Health and wellbeing programs involved over 2,200 participants, including community blood donation activities.

Nature-based livelihood programs supported 863 households through sustainable agriculture, waste management, and biodiversity conservation activities. Community welfare programs reached more than 900 beneficiaries, covering infrastructure improvements and emergency assistance for communities affected by flooding in Bali.

Head of the Nuanu Social Fund, Auditya Sari, emphasized that community-based approaches remain central to the district’s development strategy.

“Our focus is ensuring that growth translates into long-term social benefits for surrounding communities,” she said.

The 2025 Impact Report is expected to serve as a reference point for Nuanu Creative City’s future development plans, investment decisions, and accountability measures in the coming years.
