BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A foreign national was detained by police after causing concern among local residents while carrying several bladed weapons in the Kuta area of Badung Regency on Tuesday night (March 3, 2026).

The incident occurred around 11:52 p.m. WITA on Jalan Poppies II, Gang Ronta, according to Denpasar Police Public Relations Officer Iptu Gede Adi Saputra Jaya.

Police from Kuta Police Station (Polsek Kuta) responded after receiving reports from a member of the public about a foreign man carrying weapons in the area.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man was sitting in the area while visibly carrying multiple sharp weapons.

“At that time the foreign national was sitting, and officers observed two bladed weapons tucked at the front of his waist and two more positioned at the lower back,” Adi Saputra said on Wednesday (March 4, 2026).

Officers approached the man and attempted to communicate with him. He cooperated by placing the two weapons from the front of his waist onto a nearby table. Police then secured him and placed him in handcuffs.

During a body search, officers discovered another bladed weapon inside his right pocket along with several banknotes.

The foreign national, along with four bladed weapons, was taken to the Kuta Police Station for further handling.

Police said the individual appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, which prevented officers from immediately obtaining a statement.

The man was also unable to present any identification documents. A subsequent check at the accommodation where he was staying reportedly did not reveal any identity documents belonging to him. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case.
