DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Police have intensified security patrols at Mertasari Beach in South Denpasar during the ongoing Nyepi and Eid holiday period, as visitor numbers increase in the popular coastal area.
The patrol was carried out on Tuesday (March 24) by personnel from the Public Crowd Security Task Force under Operation Ketupat Agung 2026. The activity focused on maintaining public order and preventing crime in an area considered vulnerable to theft.
Led by supervising officer Kompol I Made Karsa, officers conducted direct engagement with tourists and local visitors while monitoring the situation on-site. Authorities also delivered safety reminders, encouraging beachgoers to stay alert and take care of their personal belongings.
“We urge both residents and tourists to remain vigilant against potential security disturbances and to report any suspicious activity immediately. Areas with higher crime risk are our priority,” Karsa said.
Police also reminded the public to use the national emergency hotline 110 for immediate assistance, allowing faster response without the need to visit a police station in urgent situations.
The patrol is part of preventive measures aimed at ensuring a safe and comfortable environment during the holiday season, when tourist activity at Mertasari Beach remains high.
“Visitor numbers at Mertasari Beach are still relatively high during the remainder of the holiday period. Our presence is to ensure safety for everyone,” Karsa added.
Authorities emphasized that increased patrol visibility is intended to reduce potential criminal activity and support a secure tourism environment in Bali.
