BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Police in Badung have intensified traffic enforcement after multiple violations involving foreign nationals were recorded during a targeted operation in Mengwi.
A recent “hunting system” operation conducted at Tiying Tutul intersection resulted in 15 traffic offenders being sanctioned, including 11 foreign nationals and four Indonesian citizens.
Head of Traffic Unit at Badung Police, AKP Ni Luh Tiviasih, said enforcement efforts will be increased in the area due to frequent violations involving foreign riders.
“We will continue this operation in the Tiying Tutul area, as many violations by foreign nationals are still being found,” she stated on Saturday (April 4, 2026).
The operation was led by Head of Operations of Badung Police, Kompol I Gusti Nyoman Sudarsana, and involved 72 personnel from both Badung Police and Mengwi Police. The team included criminal investigation units focusing on street crime prevention and traffic officers enforcing road discipline.
Authorities focused on visible violations, particularly the use of modified exhaust systems that do not meet technical standards, commonly referred to as “noisy exhausts.”
“Carry out duties according to standard procedures, avoid actions that could endanger others, and maintain professionalism when interacting with the public,” Sudarsana emphasized during the briefing.
From the operation, officers recorded 11 violations related to non-compliant exhaust systems and four cases of riders not wearing helmets. Police also secured 14 motorcycles and one vehicle registration document as evidence.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations, especially in areas with high activity involving foreign visitors.
Authorities urged both residents and tourists to follow local traffic laws to maintain safety on Bali’s roads.
