BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Police in Badung conducted a late-night joint enforcement operation in Canggu, a popular tourist area, resulting in the detention of 25 individuals for traffic and public order violations.
The operation took place along Jalan Nelayan in North Kuta from 00:10 to 02:30 WITA on Sunday (April 12, 2026), led directly by Badung Police Chief AKBP Joseph Edward Purba and involving 56 personnel.
Authorities reported that eight of those detained were foreign nationals, while the remaining 17 were local residents.
“A total of 25 individuals were secured, consisting of 17 locals and 8 foreigners. The violations were dominated by noisy exhaust use and incomplete vehicle documents,” Joseph said.
Most violations were related to the use of non-standard or excessively loud exhaust systems, accounting for 22 cases. The remaining cases involved issues with vehicle registration plates and incomplete documentation.
As part of the enforcement action, police confiscated 25 motorcycles used by the violators. In addition, officers issued 72 written warnings to other drivers for minor infractions.
According to authorities, the operation was not only aimed at enforcement but also at prevention, particularly in an area like Canggu, which remains active late into the night.
“This operation aims to reduce crime rates while improving traffic discipline. We also want to educate both local residents and foreign visitors to comply with regulations,” he added.
Police confirmed that similar operations will continue to be carried out regularly in high-risk areas to maintain public order and ensure a safe environment for both residents and tourists.
