BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Authorities in Bali’s Nusa Dua tourism area have installed new beach safety warning signs and red no-swimming flags as part of efforts to prevent marine accidents involving tourists.

The operation was carried out by personnel from the Water and Air Police Unit (Satpolairud) of Denpasar Police between Friday and Saturday (May 8–9, 2026) along several beach access points in Nusa Dua.

The initiative followed a coordination meeting between Satpolairud Denpasar, The Nusa Dua management, and the Badung Lifeguard Unit (UPTD Life Guard Badung) aimed at improving coastal safety measures.

Officials said the program was launched to reduce the risk of incidents such as tourists drowning or being swept away by strong currents, while also improving overall visitor safety in Bali’s coastal tourism areas.

The two-day operation involved joint coordination between police, tourism managers, and lifeguard authorities as part of broader efforts to maintain safety for both domestic and international visitors.

Beach Safety warning signs were installed at four strategic locations, including access roads near Ayodya Hotel Beach, northern Mengiat Beach access, Merusaka Hotel Beach access, and Peninsula Beach access within the Nusa Dua area.

In addition to warning signs, officers also monitored beach conditions and installed red no-swimming flags in certain areas during periods of high tide, strong waves, and strong winds based on field observations and weather forecasts issued by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

Denpasar Police spokesperson Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya said the preventive measures were intended to improve safety awareness among beach visitors.

“With the installation of safety signs and no-swimming flags, we hope tourists better understand beach conditions and always prioritize safety while visiting Nusa Dua Beach,” he said.

Authorities continue to urge tourists to pay close attention to beach safety warnings and lifeguard instructions, particularly during changing sea conditions.
