BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Police are investigating a fight involving four foreign nationals at the parking area of Batu Bolong Beach in Canggu after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

The altercation occurred in the early hours of Monday (June 29) in the parking area of Batu Bolong Beach, North Kuta District, Badung Regency.

The 24-second video shows four men engaged in a physical fight. Two men, one wearing a yellow shirt and brown shorts and another shirtless in black shorts, were seen confronting two other men, one wearing a white-and-blue shirt with brown shorts and another shirtless in black shorts.

The footage also shows one of the men in the white-and-blue shirt falling to the ground before being struck by the man in the yellow shirt.

Another foreign national wearing a black shirt and cap attempted to separate the group, while several bystanders watched and recorded the incident on their mobile phones.

Following the circulation of the video online, officers from North Kuta Police visited the scene, interviewed witnesses, and launched an investigation to identify those involved.

According to Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti, Acting Head of Public Information for Badung Police, the fight involved two groups consisting of two people each.

Based on information provided by a witness, identified as Kadek Agus, a 26-year-old employee at Shiva Mart, the four men had just left a nearby entertainment venue before the incident occurred.

Police said the confrontation began in the Batu Bolong Beach parking area after both groups reportedly attempted to approach the same foreign woman.

The disagreement escalated from a verbal argument into pushing and eventually a physical fight.

“The two groups did not know each other. The fight is believed to have started because both were trying to approach the same foreign woman,” Inastuti said on Wednesday (July 1).

The fight was eventually stopped by several beach visitors before both groups left the area.

Police said neither Badung Police nor North Kuta Police have received any official reports from those involved.

“Based on the initial investigation, the incident is also believed to have been influenced by both parties being under the influence of alcohol, causing them to lose self-control,” Inastuti added.

The investigation remains ongoing as police continue efforts to identify the individuals involved.
