DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Sira Village Grand Outlet Bali has officially opened at the Kura-Kura Bali Special Economic Zone (SEZ), introducing the island’s first premium outlet shopping destination with an integrated lifestyle concept and an investment valued at IDR 1.5 trillion (USD 85 million).

The project, developed through a collaboration between Mitsubishi Estate Group and PT Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID), was officially launched on Friday (July 31).

Covering 4.7 hectares, the development is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs while supporting Bali’s ambition to strengthen its position as a high-quality tourism destination.

President Director of PT Grand Outlet Bali, Tantowi Yahya, said Sira Village offers more than conventional retail by combining shopping, dining, culture, and recreation in a single destination.

“Bali has always been known for its natural beauty and rich culture. Sira Village offers something the island has never had before—a destination where shopping, dining, and culture come together in one place,” Tantowi said during the soft opening.

He added that the outlet is expected to encourage tourists to spend more while staying in Indonesia and provide an attractive activity before departing from Bali.

More than 100 premium brands have opened stores at Sira Village, offering year-round outlet pricing.

International brands include Coach, Kate Spade, BOSS, Adidas, Nike, True Religion, Puma, Lacoste, Steve Madden, and Tommy Hilfiger.

The development also features Bali’s first Kinokuniya bookstore, Sira Space showcasing premium brands curated by MAP, and the Indonesian debut of American fashion label Hazelwood.

Unlike traditional shopping centers, Sira Village has been designed as a pre-departure destination for travelers.

Beginning in August, visitors will be able to monitor real-time flight schedules through live flight information displays while shopping, dining, or relaxing before their flights.

The complex will also provide complimentary shuttle services to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, allowing travelers to spend their waiting time outside the airport terminal.

Beyond retail, the destination includes alfresco dining areas, landscaped public spaces, local artisan showcases, cultural performances, and a Rooftop Terrace Bar featuring an infinity pool overlooking the tropical surroundings.

Mitsubishi Estate Corporation Executive Officer and General Manager of International Business Development Toru Hayamizu described the opening as an important milestone in the company’s international expansion.

“Bali is one of the world’s leading resort destinations, and the Kura-Kura Bali Special Economic Zone offers significant potential for high-quality tourism and sustainable growth,” he said.

Architecturally, Sira Village embraces the concept of “Desa Bhinneka” (A Village for Diverse Communities) by adapting traditional Balinese village elements, including bale pavilions and natah courtyards, into a contemporary retail environment.

The project also emphasizes sustainability through the use of local and recycled materials, natural ventilation, energy-efficient cooling systems, and plastic waste management facilities. The development is currently pursuing BCA Green Mark Gold certification.

The opening celebrations feature cultural performances including Hanoman Obong, the Grand Couture Bali Goddesses fashion show, Balinese traditional dress experiences, and the Indonesian Contemporary Art & Design (ICAD) exhibition. Live performances by Balawan, Pongki Barata, and Soulfood are scheduled between July 31 and August 2, 2026.
