BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Bali provincial authorities and the High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) Bali carried out a mangrove planting activity in the Taman Hutan Raya (Tahura) area of Tanjung Benoa, South Kuta, on Saturday (May 25), as part of efforts to support environmental conservation on the island.

The event was attended by Bali Governor Wayan Koster and Indonesia’s Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence, Prof. Dr. Reda Manthovani, along with other officials.

Head of the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office, Dr. Chatarina Muliana, said the initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to environmental sustainability, emphasizing that conservation is not only a technical effort but also a broader responsibility.

“Mangrove planting is not just about preserving nature, but also part of our moral responsibility as law enforcers to protect Bali’s ecosystem,” she said.

According to the office’s public information division, around 200 mangrove seedlings were planted during the activity. The event also included the symbolic release of birds, representing hope for environmental preservation.

Authorities highlighted that mangroves play a crucial role in protecting coastal areas from erosion, supporting marine biodiversity, and maintaining ecological balance, factors that are increasingly important for Bali as a global tourism destination.

The participation of the High Prosecutor’s Office is expected to strengthen cross-sector collaboration in environmental protection, aligning with broader efforts to promote sustainable development across the island.
