BULELENG, DEWATA.NEWS – North Bali’s maritime tourism sector recorded a strong start in 2026, with 10 international cruise ships docking at Celukan Bawang Port between January and April, highlighting growing global interest in the region.
According to PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Regional Celukan Bawang, the steady flow of cruise arrivals reflects increasing confidence in the port’s services and its role as a gateway for tourism in Buleleng.
The cruise season began in January with visits from MS Celebrity Millennium, MV Regatta, and MV Sirena. Activity intensified in February with arrivals including MV Seven Seas Explorer, MV Riviera, MV Azamara Pursuit, and a return visit from MS Celebrity Millennium.
The trend continued in March with MV Seven Seas Mariner, before concluding in April with MV Seven Seas Navigator, which docked on April 19, 2026, carrying 437 passengers and 363 crew members. The visit marked the closing call for the current cruise season, with operations expected to resume in August.
General Manager of Pelindo Celukan Bawang, Mochammad Imron, said the increase in cruise traffic is a positive signal for Bali’s maritime tourism sector.
“Pelindo remains committed to delivering international-standard port services to support tourism growth and strengthen national maritime connectivity,” he said.
In total, 11,198 passengers and 6,183 crew members visited various tourist destinations in Buleleng and surrounding areas during the four-month period. Their presence contributed to local economic activity, including transportation services, tour operations, and small businesses.
Pelindo stated that all port operations were conducted under strict safety, security, and service standards, supported by coordination with relevant authorities such as port regulators, immigration, customs, and health quarantine agencies.
“We implement an end-to-end service system, from pre-arrival preparation to post-visit services, to ensure smooth and efficient operations,” Imron added.
The consistent increase in cruise visits reinforces Celukan Bawang’s position as a strategic entry point for international tourists exploring northern Bali.
