BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – A fire broke out at the main kitchen of Club Med Bali in the Nusa Dua tourism area, South Kuta, on Friday morning (April 24), sending thick smoke across the resort complex. Authorities confirmed the situation has been fully brought under control with no reported injuries.
The incident occurred at around 07:00 WITA, as hotel operations were beginning for the day. The fire was first detected in the main kitchen, a central facility for the hotel’s food service operations.
General Manager of The Nusa Dua area, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, said emergency protocols were immediately activated once the alarm was triggered.
“As soon as the alarm sounded, emergency procedures were implemented. Our internal fire brigade team was deployed to the scene,” he said.
Firefighting efforts involved a coordinated response between the internal fire brigade of ITDC and the Badung Fire Department. A total of two internal fire units and seven additional fire engines were deployed to contain the blaze.
Authorities confirmed the fire was successfully contained before spreading to guest rooms or other public facilities within the resort.
“The fire was extinguished before it could reach the main guest buildings or other public areas,” Dwiatmika added.
Following the extinguishing process, joint teams continued cooling operations to ensure no remaining hotspots. Officials stated that the situation is now stable and fully under control.
Despite the incident, operations across The Nusa Dua area continue as normal. Hotel management is currently coordinating cleanup efforts and assessing material damage.
“We remain committed to prioritizing safety and security across the area and will conduct a thorough evaluation to prevent similar incidents in the future,” he said.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Authorities confirmed that all hotel guests are safe and under the supervision of Club Med Bali management.
