BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Police in Bali’s North Kuta area have increased patrols and preventive security measures following a clash involving two groups of foreign nationals at a bar on Jalan Pemelisan Agung, Tibubeneng, Kuta Utara.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday (23/5), drew public attention after reports emerged that several foreign nationals were injured during the disturbance.
Despite the injuries, police said no formal report has been filed by either the individuals involved or the management of the bar.
“Neither the victims nor the bar management have filed a report. However, the investigation process is still ongoing,” said Badung Police public relations officer Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti on Tuesday (26/5).
According to police, authorities are continuing to investigate the incident while also strengthening security operations across North Kuta, one of Bali’s busiest tourism and nightlife areas.
The measures include routine daytime and nighttime patrols, joint patrol operations during high-risk hours, increased monitoring at crowded locations, and direct engagement with local communities, tourism businesses, security personnel, and traditional village authorities.
“Security efforts are being carried out through regular patrols, joint operations during vulnerable hours, supervision at crowded locations, and increased dialogue with the community, security teams, tourism operators, and customary village representatives,” Ayu explained.
Police also said they are prioritizing early detection and rapid response to any public security disturbances, including incidents involving foreign nationals.
Authorities emphasized that all cases are handled according to Indonesian law regardless of nationality.
The police are also coordinating with immigration officials, pecalang traditional security officers, local village authorities, and business operators to strengthen oversight in North Kuta.
Officials urged residents and foreign visitors in Bali to respect local laws, cultural norms, and public order to help maintain a safe tourism environment.
The clash reportedly prompted Badung Police Chief AKBP Joseph Edward Purba to visit the scene shortly after the incident, where officers received information that several foreign nationals had suffered injuries.
