DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – A two-day coastal bazaar in Serangan has attracted strong visitor interest, offering a mix of local food, culture, and community activities at the Kura-Kura Bali Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

Held on May 2–3 at UID Bali Campus from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM WITA, the event has become a draw for both residents and tourists spending time in Bali.

The bazaar, themed “Bali Revival,” is designed as more than a marketplace, creating a space for interaction between small businesses, artists, and local communities in a relaxed seaside setting.

Organizers expect around 3,000 visitors over the two days, an increase from approximately 2,200 visitors recorded during the first edition in February.

“This second edition features around 70 tenants, including 30 food and beverage vendors, 10 workshops, and 30 retail participants. Our focus is on creating benefits for tenants rather than setting transaction targets,” said event organizer Zefri Alfaruqy.

Local entrepreneur Kadek Erni highlighted the importance of the event for small businesses.

“This is a valuable opportunity to introduce local culinary products to a wider audience,” she said.

The event incorporates environmentally friendly practices by reducing plastic use and encourages inclusive participation, allowing visitors of all backgrounds, including those with pets.

Visitors can experience a variety of activities, including traditional Balinese costume photo sessions and interactive Kecak dance workshops with local art communities.

A Kecak performance in the evening serves as a main attraction, complemented by traditional music, community performances, and DJ sets.

Community involvement is also emphasized through initiatives such as recycling plastic waste into functional products, including souvenirs and event materials.

“This is part of our collaboration with Serangan residents, showing how waste can be transformed into useful products while supporting the local economy,” Zefri explained.

Additional experiences include short boat trips along nearby canals using traditional jukung boats, offering visitors a glimpse into coastal life in Bali.

The bazaar features a curated selection of local cuisine, handmade crafts, fashion, and eco-friendly products, ensuring quality and diversity across all participating vendors.

For international visitors, the event provides an accessible way to engage with Bali’s local culture and creative community in one setting.
