BULELENG, DEWATA.NEWS – Indonesian immigration authorities have deported three foreign nationals from Bali after determining they had allegedly engaged in activities that violated the conditions of their visas.
The three individuals were identified by their initials as AKG, 48, an Indian national; RN, 44, a Singaporean national; and ST, 34, a Chinese national.
According to Anak Agung Gde Kusuma Putra, Head of the Class II Immigration Office at Singaraja, the three foreigners were found carrying out activities that did not match the purposes of their respective stay permits.
Investigators found that AKG and RN were allegedly organizing and conducting yoga classes at a villa in Buleleng Regency.
Meanwhile, ST was allegedly working at a factory in Karangasem Regency, where he installed production machinery and provided operational training.
“Our investigation found that AKG entered Indonesia using a Visa on Arrival (VOA), RN entered under the Visa-Free Visit (BVK) scheme, and ST also used a Visa on Arrival,” Kusuma Putra said in a statement on Wednesday (July 15).
He explained that the visas used by the three foreign nationals were intended only for specific visit purposes and did not authorize employment or other income-generating activities.
According to immigration authorities, all foreign nationals staying in Indonesia are required to comply with the country’s immigration regulations and use visas that match the purpose of their visit.
“We will continue strengthening supervision of foreign nationals as part of immigration law enforcement. Every foreign citizen must use a visa and residence permit that are consistent with the purpose of their stay in Indonesia,” Kusuma Putra said.
As an administrative immigration sanction, the three foreign nationals were deported from Indonesia and have been proposed for inclusion on the country’s immigration blacklist, which would prevent them from re-entering Indonesia.
Immigration officials said the action was taken under Article 75 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 122(a) of Indonesia’s Immigration Law No. 6 of 2011, which provides sanctions for foreigners who misuse their stay permits.
