DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Bali Police and the South Korean Consulate have reinforced cooperation efforts to enhance safety and security for foreign tourists visiting the island, following recent discussions on travel safety and bilateral coordination.
The initiative was highlighted during a meeting between the VIP Sub-Directorate of Bali Police’s Vital Object Security Directorate and representatives of the South Korean Consulate in Benoa, Denpasar, on Tuesday (April 7, 2026).
Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya emphasized that ensuring the safety and comfort of all visitors remains a top priority.
“The safety and comfort of all visitors, including our Korean friends, remain our top priority,” he said in a written statement.
During the meeting, the South Korean Consulate clarified that its recent travel advisory was intended as a routine safety reminder for its citizens, not a restriction or ban on travel to Bali. The consulate also acknowledged the swift response from Bali Police and confirmed that its communication has been updated to reflect current conditions on the island.
Authorities outlined several measures to strengthen safety, including increased patrols in tourist areas and high-traffic zones, as well as improved coordination with tourism stakeholders and foreign diplomatic missions.
Police also committed to handling cases involving foreign nationals more efficiently through faster investigation and resolution processes.
According to Bali Police data, crime cases involving foreign nationals between January and April 2026 have decreased by approximately 23 percent compared to the same period last year, indicating a positive trend in public safety.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to maintaining Bali as a safe and welcoming world-class tourism destination,” Daniel added.
The strengthened collaboration is expected to support international confidence in Bali’s tourism sector, particularly among key visitor markets such as South Korea.
