BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Authorities in North Kuta conducted an early morning public order operation in Canggu, detaining 12 individuals following complaints from residents and local businesses about disturbances affecting tourists.

The operation was carried out by the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) assigned to North Kuta at around 03:30 WITA on Tuesday (April 14, 2026), targeting areas along Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong, a busy nightlife and tourism zone.

According to field coordinator Putu Agustina, the action was taken after multiple reports indicated that groups had been approaching foreign tourists late at night, particularly as they exited entertainment venues.

“We received reports through the Public Order section. Early this morning we conducted enforcement based on those complaints,” he said.

Authorities noted that the individuals typically operated between 04:00 and 05:00 WITA, coinciding with closing hours of nearby beach clubs. Some incidents had gained attention on social media, including altercations involving visitors.

“They were reported to be approaching tourists in a way that disturbed public comfort, and there had been incidents that escalated into disputes,” Putu added.

During the operation, officers detained 12 individuals, some of whom attempted to evade authorities before being located with assistance from local residents and restaurant staff.

None of those detained were able to present identification documents at the time of the operation.

All individuals were transferred to the Badung Social Affairs Office (Dinsos) for further processing and assessment. Officials indicated that some of them are believed to originate from outside Bali, and coordination with provincial authorities is planned for follow-up handling.

While the operation proceeded without major incidents at the location, officials reported that some individuals protested upon arrival at the Social Affairs Office.

Authorities emphasized that similar inspections will continue in areas such as Umalas and Kayu Aya, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain public order in key tourism zones.
