BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in Bali is preparing a new service innovation called the Immigration Lounge as part of efforts to improve immigration services amid growing demand from both Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals.
The facility, which is currently in the preparation stage, is expected to enter a trial phase in the near future.
Head of Ngurah Rai Class I Special Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, said the initiative was developed in response to the high volume of immigration service applicants in Bali.
“As one of the immigration offices with a high service volume in Bali, we continue innovating to further improve the quality of our public services,” Bugie said on Wednesday (May 6, 2026).
According to immigration authorities, the Immigration Lounge will function as an alternative service location outside the main Ngurah Rai Immigration Office while also helping reduce congestion from increasing applicant numbers.
The concept is designed with a more modern approach, offering a comfortable and more exclusive service atmosphere for both Indonesian citizens and foreign visitors.
“The facility is currently being prepared and will soon enter a trial phase,” he added.
Officials said the formal launch of the Immigration Lounge is planned to coincide with a future visit by Indonesia’s Director General of Immigration to Bali, once preparations are completed.
Beyond improving accessibility to immigration services, the project is also described as a form of collaboration between government institutions and private sector partners in supporting public service innovation in Bali.
