BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Immigration authorities in Bali have detained multiple foreign nationals during a series of enforcement actions under Operation Wirawaspada 2026, targeting alleged visa violations and the use of fraudulent documents.
The operation, led by the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, took place in early April 2026 across several key locations, including areas with high concentrations of foreign residents, as well as through digital monitoring by the Immigration Cyber Unit.
Head of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, said the operation reflects ongoing efforts to enforce immigration law and maintain order in one of Indonesia’s main international destinations.
“We will not tolerate foreign nationals attempting to bypass the law in Indonesia, whether through fake documents or misuse of stay permits. Bali is open to those who comply, but firm action, including deportation and blacklisting, will be taken against violators,” he said on Tuesday (April 14, 2026).
During an operation conducted on April 8 in Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta, officers detained two foreign nationals suspected of using fictitious stay permits. One individual from Nigeria reportedly held an investor stay permit (ITAS) linked to a suspected shell company, while another from Uganda was suspected of using falsified documents under a remote worker permit scheme.
Further investigations by the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Unit (Inteldakim) also uncovered alleged online prostitution activities involving two Russian nationals identified by initials KP and VB, who were suspected of offering services through digital platforms.
On April 9, a joint operation involving the Indonesian National Armed Forces Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS TNI) and the Badung Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) was conducted in the Jalan Poppies area of Kuta. Six additional foreign nationals were detained for various violations.
Two individuals from Tanzania were found to have overstayed their visas. Three others from Uganda were suspected of engaging in activities not aligned with their stay permits. Another Nigerian national was identified with an expired passport and suspected use of falsified documents to obtain residency status.
All individuals detained during the operation have been transferred to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office for further questioning and legal processing. Authorities confirmed that sanctions may include deportation and entry bans in accordance with Indonesian immigration law.
The operation is part of a nationwide initiative carried out simultaneously across Indonesia as a strategic effort to strengthen oversight of foreign nationals.
Authorities also called on the public to actively report suspicious activities involving foreign nationals, emphasizing the importance of community participation in maintaining public order and legal compliance.
