BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Traffic engineering measures in Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta, have been officially made permanent after a five-month trial recorded no traffic accidents.
The scheme was tested from December 14, 2025, to April 14, 2026, and evaluated positively by authorities, leading to its full implementation.
Head of Traffic Unit at Badung Police, AKP Ni Luh Tiviasih, said enforcement will now be stricter following the end of the trial phase.
“During the trial, we focused on public awareness. Now, any violations will be subject to fines,” she said on Thursday (April 16).
During the trial period, officers prioritized education and warnings rather than issuing penalties. With the policy now permanent, traffic violations will be formally sanctioned.
Acting Head of Badung Transportation Agency, I Made Gede Wiryantara Adi Susandi, confirmed that the traffic scheme has also been expanded to include parts of Seminyak to help ease congestion in Kerobokan Kelod.
“Previously, enforcement was limited to advisories. Now, it has moved into full law enforcement,” he explained.
Authorities plan to continue socializing the new system through local administrative channels, including subdistricts and villages, to ensure wider public understanding.
The initiative aims to reduce congestion in key traffic hotspots, especially as tourism activity continues to increase in the area.
Officials have urged residents and visitors to comply with the updated traffic rules to maintain safety and improve traffic flow in one of Bali’s busiest tourism corridors.
