TABANAN, DEWATA.NEWS – The Class III Non-TPI Immigration Office in Tabanan is scheduled to begin operations in March at the former Tabanan Subdistrict Office building on Jalan Arjuna No. 9, Delod Peken Village.

The move follows the signing of a regional asset loan agreement between the Tabanan Regency Government and the Immigration Office earlier this week.

Tabanan Regional Secretary I Gede Susila confirmed on Friday (February 27) that the former subdistrict office building has officially been designated as the new Immigration Office after the memorandum of understanding was signed on Tuesday (February 24).

“Yes, the former Tabanan Subdistrict Office building is officially designated as the Class III Non-TPI Immigration Office in Tabanan. The loan agreement for the regional asset has been completed,” Susila said.

The temporary use of the building is intended to accelerate the availability of immigration services in Tabanan while waiting for the construction of a permanent office. The head of the Tabanan Immigration Office has already been appointed, and operations are now pending final technical preparations.

The former subdistrict office building became available after administrative services were relocated to a new facility in Bongan Village on Jalan Kebo Iwa.

With the opening of the new office, residents of Tabanan will no longer need to travel to Denpasar to process passports, visas, and other immigration documents. Local officials say the change will provide significant convenience, particularly for young residents planning to work overseas.

“Tabanan residents can now process passports and other immigration administration within their own regency,” Susila added.

The presence of an immigration office in Tabanan is also considered strategic for monitoring foreign nationals. According to 2025 data, approximately 153,000 foreign nationals were recorded as temporarily residing in Tabanan Regency.

“With an immigration office in Tabanan, coordination and supervision of foreign nationals will be easier,” he said.

For international residents and visitors, the new office is expected to streamline immigration-related services in western Bali and reduce processing pressure on offices in Denpasar.
