BADUNG, DEWATA.NEWS – Immigration officers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport have detained three Chinese nationals suspected of involvement in an aggravated theft case in Bogor, West Java.

The suspects, identified by initials JW, RW, and HL, were intercepted on Saturday (May 2) while attempting to depart Bali on a flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Head of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, said the arrests were made after the individuals were flagged through the immigration system and showed suspicious behavior during checks.

“We will take action against anyone listed as wanted, as long as the information is communicated to us,” he said.

Immigration officers decided to delay their departure for further questioning, which confirmed their alleged connection to a criminal case reported by Bogor City Police.

According to police records, the theft occurred on March 22 at around 8:45 PM local time, when suspects reportedly entered an unoccupied residence in a residential area while the homeowner was away.

The perpetrators were described as wearing masks resembling football players and black gloves during the incident.

Authorities emphasized that the arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of coordination between law enforcement agencies and immigration systems.

“This shows that entry and exit points in Indonesia, especially Ngurah Rai Airport, cannot be used as escape routes for those evading the law,” Bugie added.

The operation involved coordination between Bogor City Police, Bogor Immigration Office, and Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, supported by digital monitoring systems.

The three suspects have now been handed over to Bogor City Police for further legal proceedings.
