DENPASAR, DEWATA.NEWS – Three foreign nationals from Ghana have been detained by immigration authorities in Bali over suspected misuse of investor stay permits and incomplete immigration documents, officials confirmed on Friday (April 24).

The individuals, identified by their initials SKY (46), ENA (44), and IA (49), were taken to the Denpasar Immigration Office for further questioning after being caught in a joint immigration operation under the “Dharma Dewata” program.

Head of Denpasar Immigration Office R. Haryo Sakti said the investigation is still ongoing.

“We are still conducting further examination of the three individuals,” he stated.

The case came to light after immigration intelligence officers received reports from the public regarding suspected violations involving the three foreign nationals. Officers later located them at an accommodation in the Pemogan area, South Denpasar.

According to immigration records, all three entered Indonesia through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in late 2025 and were registered under limited stay permits as investors.

However, during inspection, authorities identified several irregularities. ENA and IA were unable to present their original passports, while SKY failed to clearly explain the company linked to his investor sponsorship.

“This monitoring is carried out to maintain order and ensure that the presence of foreign nationals contributes positively to Bali,” Haryo Sakti said.

Authorities emphasized that the operation is part of broader efforts to strengthen immigration enforcement and respond quickly to potential violations involving foreign nationals.

The “Dharma Dewata” task force is also intended to reduce legal violations while increasing public awareness of immigration rules through direct field operations.

Data from the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration shows that between January 1 and April 12, 2026, authorities carried out 165 deportations and 62 detection actions related to immigration enforcement.
